And the music continues.. (FFfAW)

After a decade, Sam took out the poster of a burning guitar hidden in his closet. In his college days, this poster adorned his room and it symbolized his burning passion for music. As years passed by, his dream of becoming a rock star was buried by the hard realities of life. He couldn’t feed his family with the meager earnings from his few and far between music shows. He had to sell his guitar to afford the expenses. He was forced to take up a job at a factory. Melodious music in his life was replaced with incessant clanking of metal.  Today, after all these years, Sam showed the poster to his 6 year old son who was imitating the singer in the TV and said proudly “I’ll make you a rock star!”

  1. We tend to live our dreams through our children. I agree with Jacqueline. Maybe his son will become a Rock star and Sam can live his dream through his son. Wonderful story, Jahnavi!

  2. Hopefully, his son will be as excited about being a rock star as his dad was, or his dad’s dream for his son will die like his own dream. Great story. I’m sure this sort of thing happens a lot.

  3. Living your dreams through your children can be a dangerous thing – if it’s not what his son really wants there could be a lot of resentment in the years ahead. Good story. 🙂

I'm all ears. Tell me.
