Everyone who sees that photo tells her “What a caring husband!”

Those words prick her heart and she conceals her disappointment behind her smile. That photo reminds her of a bitter memory which leaves her confused.

It was their wedding anniversary. She wanted to surprise him with a romantic candle light dinner.

Just when she was getting ready for the fantastic evening ahead, he called her and told that they were going to a party at his friend’s place. Alas, she was let down again! For him, spending time with friends was more important than celebrating special events with the family. She knew that very well but every time she hopes he will change and that never happened.

Does it mean he doesn’t care for her? No. He always tries his best to keep her safe and secure. That’s why he noticed something amiss in her stilettos and helped her.

“He is a caring person but..”, she sighs sadly.

  1. I understand this well. I know men like this. Friends are awesome to spend time with but ‘personal time’ with your husband is extremely vital too. Great job on this. A realistic take.

  2. I think he loves her, but not totally the way she wants him to. She wants some romance in the mix, but I don’t think he gives that a lot of thought especially if he had rather they spend their anniversary with friends on what should be a very special day for both of them! Great story.

  3. He is a caring person…keeps her ‘safe and secure’…but is he too possessive, or does he love her truly? Overall, he lives life on his own terms while she is the one to adapt to his ways. Such scenarios are not impossible within marriages but these reasons aren’t strong enough for couples to part ways.
You can write a longer story…:)

I'm all ears. Tell me.
