My First Liebster Award

Wow! I was delighted when fellow blogger “Wandering soul” nominated me for Liebster Award. This is the first award that I received after I started blogging regularly. I came to know that ‘liebster’ is a german word which means beloved/dearest/sweetheart. I am not sure who started these awards , but I think this is a good way to recognise and appreciate each other in this blogosphere. I am happy to be part of this wonderful encouraging community. Rain,Rain,Come Again (Flash fiction for Aspiring Writers)

The climate stayed hot for several months. The water in the lakes dried up. The town was suffering from drought. Due to water scarcity, the cost of bottled water shot up.  Every drop of water became precious.  People started using water with stinginess as if it were gold.  The trees withered,  the plants perished and the sparrows died due to lack of water. One day, a miracle happened. Dark clouds appeared over the town. The peacocks, having an instinct to predict rain, opened their feathers and started dancing.  Minutes later, the much awaited rain ended the drought in the town.

Dear Indie Author Name,

It is a pleasure to see you stepping into this exciting field. It has been far too long since we’ve talked to each other. We live in an age where hackers rob banks from computer screens. Identities are swiped with the clicking of a mouse and the input of numbers on a keyboard. Now days, whole books are stolen, articles are copy and pasted from blogs like yours and websites are…

Career woman or a Home maker?

Then :

One year back, at 10:00 am in the morning, I was sitting at my desk in my office, worrying about all the tasks for that day. Here were my thought:

“Oh! This work is so boring. Why am I working at all? I am not getting a promotion. I am not getting any salary hike. I don’t have time to enjoy. I am struck here in the office from morning till night. I have a child who needs my attention. I left her at my Mom’s place. I am giving so much trouble to my Mom. Is my job really worthwhile? Can’t I just leave my job and take care of my family? ”

I quit the job and had been staying at home taking care of my family for the past one year. Now I think

“Oh! It’s so boring. My child went to school.Husband went to office. There is no interesting work to do. There is no promotion. There is no salary. I keep doing all the “home work” and no one appreciates me. I’m stuck at home all day. Is staying at home to take care of a family really worthwhile? Can’t I just go  out and work?”

Lesson learnt: At every point in life, there is something which is always out of reach. It is better to enjoy the present situation and make the best out of it 🙂

P.S: In response to daily prompt

Catch the time before it flies!

Do you want to write a book?

Do you want to go to the fitness center but don’t have time for it?

Do you want to read a book but couldn’t get the time out of your busy schedule?

Lack of Time seems the root cause for all the pending activities which stay dormant in our dreams and never  turn into reality. Tempus Fugus (Latin Expression meaning Time flies). Is there a way to circumvent this problem? Can we get a grip of the 24 hours in a day and utilize them in the best possible manner before the time slips through our hands slowly yet surely?

Yes Of course. There is a powerful technique which I call  the ‘Power of Delta’(an incremental change).  Small amounts of time (Which I call as ‘Delta’ ),  when accumulated over a period of time, brings in huge results beyond your imagination.
