“Where did I keep the dry cleaning receipt? One week back, I gave the clothes for dry cleaning, did some shopping, came home and ..? I should have kept the receipt in my handbag. It’s not there. Did I keep it near the desktop? Near the TV? No. where is it?
Phew! There it is. I can see the corner of the folded yellowed parchment sticking out of the torn lining of the battered book. I don’t remember keeping it there. Let’s see..
Whoa! What is it? A diamond purchase receipt? I didn’t purchase any. Did John buy one? There is no occasion coming up. My birthday is still 6 months away and our wedding anniversary was last week. Oh No! Is he seeing someone else? Is that why he is coming late from work every day? How could he betray me? For how long is this going on?
Wait a minute. The receipt is dated 3 years back!!?? And it’s one week before my wedding? Oh! What a fool I am!! Of course, this is my wedding ring receipt. John would have kept it here and forgotten. Thank goodness! I didn’t confront John. I should stop jumping to conclusions!!”

Thanks a lot Roger for the prompt.
I enjoyed the story especially the part where when she saw the diamond receipt and immediately, so many questions jumped into her head. That is a lot of assumptions. 🙂
Glad you liked it, Yinglan 🙂

There must be some underlying reasons that she finds her man immediately untrustworthy… she may want to keep up her suspicions?
Yes Roger. She can still be keep her suspicions but this situation taught her to think twice before confronting. Thanks a lot for the creative photo prompt.
