All because of a SUV#Flash Fiction(FFfAW)#Humor

“So much work ahead!”, muttered Reema as she made several trips to the house carrying armful of groceries from the SUV every time. Five years back Reema, her husband, and her two adorable children lived in a rented two bedroom  apartment. That year they sold their car and bought a new SUV. Soon, carpooling for children’s soccer and swimming classes brought new friends. Weekend get-togethers started. When their apartment became too small to accommodate all their guests, they bought a single family home. Parties increased, expenses increased and vacations decreased. Reema became busy with shopping groceries, hosting parties, and maintaining the huge house. Though she enjoyed spending time with friends, she craved for some free time which she rarely got these days. “Life was much simpler back then”, she sighed as she recollected her blissful afternoons relaxing on the couch a few years ago.

That’s how a spooky story started #3linetales

tltweek37

photo by Ben Rosett – large version here

“The empty swing, the shadow of someone approaching the swing and a white ghost like figure at the far end of the chairs,  – Definitely, it’s a spooky swing!”, gasped his friend  seeing the photo.

The photographer amused with this inference immediately uploaded the photo on Facebook with the title ‘Spooky Swing’ , added the explanation provided by his friend , and that post, which was meant to be a prank , went viral  as a ‘Paranormal sighting’ within few minutes !

“Oh! This is how spooky stories start!”, thought the photographer, who alone knew the truth that the girl who was supposed to sit on the swing left to play with her friends exactly at the moment he clicked the camera.!

“Wow! You are so lucky to have such a magnificent view of the city from your office.  Look at the Empire state building with the beautiful rainbow in the background.”

“Huh! Daily I’m so stressed out with my work here that I hardly have time to look outside!”
